How to play

It's your turn. Look at the others' words, ask a question out loud to figure out your own, then tap I asked. You can also guess without asking, or give up.

When someone else asks, listen and tap Yes, No or Maybe before time runs out. You can change your answer until then.

See every answer and the majority. Then guess, pass the turn or give up. With Keep going on Yes, a Yes majority lets you tap One more question.

The guessing player says their guess out loud. Vote Right or Wrong before time runs out.

If Right votes beat Wrong votes, the word is found, revealed to everyone and scored. Right or wrong, the turn then passes to the next player.

Once everyone has found their word or given up, see the ranking, all the words and how many questions each player needed.
Everyone has a secret word. Your screen shows everyone's word except your own. On your turn, ask the table one question out loud to figure out your word; the others answer Yes, No or Maybe on their phones. When you think you know it, say your guess and the table votes on whether it's right.
The fewer questions you need, the more points you score, and wrong guesses lower that score. When everyone is done, the highest score wins.
How to win
The player with the highest score wins. On a tie, whoever found their word first ranks higher; if the top score is 0, nobody wins.

Yes, No, Maybe rules
Every rule of the game, from scoring to how a game is won.
Overview and setup
- Yes, No, Maybe is for 2–10 players, each on their own phone, in the same room. Questions and guesses are said out loud; answers and votes go through the phones.
- Each package has 10 words on one theme. When the game starts, the words are shuffled and every player gets a different one.
- Your screen shows everyone else's word, but yours is hidden. Words appear in each player's own app language.
- The turn order is shuffled at the start and stays the same for the whole game.
- Tap a player's card to see the questions they asked and the answers they got. Tap your own card to add notes next to your questions; your notes stay on your phone only.
Turn flow
- On your turn you have three options: ask a question, guess or give up.
- To ask, say out loud a question that can be answered yes, no or maybe, then tap I asked. For example: Am I alive? Would you find me in a kitchen?
- Everyone else taps Yes, No or Maybe within 15 seconds. Players who have already found their word or given up keep answering.
- When everyone has answered or time runs out, all answers and the majority are shown. The majority is the answer picked most often; if the top answers are tied, the majority counts as Maybe, and if nobody answered, it shows No answer.
- After seeing the answers, you can guess, tap Pass the turn or give up.
- When you guess, say your guess out loud and the others vote Right or Wrong within 10 seconds. If Right votes outnumber Wrong votes, you've found your word; a tied vote or no votes at all count as wrong.
- A guess always ends your turn, right or wrong. Players who have found their word, given up or left are skipped.
Scoring
- When you find your word, you score 1,000 points minus 25 for every question you asked during the game. This score never goes below 200.
- Questions add up across the whole game, no matter which turn you asked them in. The fewer questions you ask in total, the more you score.
- Each wrong guess lowers the score you get for finding your word by 100. Wrong guesses can take you below 200, but never below 0.
- If you never find your word, because you gave up, your word was revealed or you left, you score 0. Scores never go negative.
- Examples: find it after 2 questions with no wrong guesses and you score 950. Find it after 10 questions with 2 wrong guesses and you get 1,000 − 250 = 750, minus 200 for the wrong guesses, so you score 550. Find it after 40 or more questions and you score 200.
- During the game, the screen shows how many points you'd get if you found your word right now.
Winning and ranking
- The game ends when nobody is still looking for their word.
- Players are ranked by total score. On a tie, whoever found their word first ranks higher; players with the same score and the same solve time share a rank.
- The player in first place wins; if several players share first place, they all win. If the top score is 0, nobody wins.
- Players who left are ranked last and can't win.
Special cases
- Last player rule: when only one player is still looking for their word, they get 5 more turns, counting the current one. If they haven't found it by the end of the 5th turn, their word is revealed, they score 0 and the game ends.
- If you give up, your word is revealed and you score nothing for it. You still answer and vote for everyone else.
- If a player is disconnected on their turn, they are skipped as long as someone else can play. A player who leaves isn't waited for, and their word isn't revealed.
- If the host leaves, the game goes on: hosting passes at once to the next signed-in player. If the host loses connection, everyone is warned after 1 minute, and hosting passes on if they aren't back within 2 minutes. If fewer than 2 players remain, the game ends.
Host settings
- One question (default turn rule): ask one question per turn, then guess, pass the turn or give up.
- Keep going on Yes: as long as the majority says Yes, you can keep asking in the same turn. You can ask up to 5 questions per turn.
- The host picks the package. Answer and voting times can't be changed.
- Timers and point values may change in future updates.
